Description
East Baltid variety, named after the Savolaxia province of Finland, similar to Neo Danubian. Core population in Eastern Finland, Karelia, and Northern Russia, also Lappland. Occasionally found all over Scandinavia and in Eastern Europe south to the Carpathian Mountains. In Norway and Southern Sweden, the type is the result of relatively recent Finnish immigration.
Traits
Pale to fair skin, straight, dirty blonde or brown hair, often light eyes. Medium height, mildly macroskelic, endomorph. Mildly brachycephalic, mildly hypsicranic. Prominent malars and relatively flat, wide face, short jaw. Mildly leptorrhine, concave, snub-nose. Forehead low, sloping. Sometimes slanted eyes. Compared to Tavastid, shorter, narrower- and smaller-headed, and flatter-faced.

Description
Nordid proper, resembles the Iron Age remains of the Austrian village of Hallstatt. Most common among Swedes and South Norwegians. Frequent in England, Northern Germany, Netherlands, Northern France, Iceland, Northern Poland, along Daugava, Vistula, and Po rivers, sometimes Austria, Switzerland, Northern Italy. Germanic tribes (Goths, Vandals) brought traces to Spain, Greece, North Africa, and Russia.
Traits
Pinkish pale skin. Straight to wavy, golden blonde, sometimes red or light brown hair. (Grey-)blue eyes. Tall, ectomorph or mildly mesomorph with wide shoulders and narrow hips (even in women), meso- sometimes brachyskelic. Mesocephalic, dolichocephalic at times, mildly chamaecranic with a curved occiput. Hyperleptorrhine, straight or mildly convex, high-bridged nose. Face high and narrow with marked features, mildly sloping forehead, thin lips, sturdy chin.

Ancient type that is sporadically found in Northern and Western Europe, usually only in relict populations. A resemblance with Cro-Magnons has been stressed by some authors. Strongest concentrations in Southern Norwegian mountain valleys (e.g. Tydal), Dalarna (Sweden), Western Scotland, and Ireland. Has a Tydal subvariety in Scandinavia.

Very large-headed, dolicho- sometimes mesocephalic, chamae- orthocranic. Mildly leptorrhine, often concave nose. More robust than Dalofaelids with heavy brow ridges, wider and lower noses and faces, darker pigmentation, and strong pilous growth.
